Hello Pates,
Thank you to FWPA for hosting our 3rd annual Goodies with Grans event at the Fort! It was such a special treat to spend some time with our grans at the end of the school day with goodies, pictures, and the Book Fair. And thank you to all our volunteers who helped make this event possible!
It’s hard to believe that we are now in our fifth week of school! Our first quarter progress reports will be coming home with our students this Friday, September 20th to provide you with an update on how they are doing in school so far. Please save the date for our Parent-Teacher Conferences on Friday, November 1st. There is no school for students that day to allow time for you to meet with the teacher to discuss your student’s current progress and academic development. A sign-up for conference times will be sent to you via Parent Square from the classroom teacher.
Congratulations to our newly elected fall semester Student Council! We had a record amount of 51 students who ran for office, and all are commended for their enthusiasm, leadership, and bravery to appear before their peers to deliver their student council election speech. It is evident our students value their role and their contributions and carry much pride in our school.
Thank you to all our amazing Pates who helped place flags onto our front lawn to represent and honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Also, thank you to Mr. Le Fore for leading a commemorative tribute to remember the extraordinary acts of courage and service of our fallen heroes.
Fort Washington is also the proud recipient of the California PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Platinum Award. We are recognized for our successful implementation of PBIS through our STRONG expectations and creating the conditions to maximize academic and social-emotional-behavioral outcomes for ALL students. Congratulations Pates!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hashimoto
