Principal's Message for March 13, 2023

Hello Pates,

Looks like we have another week of rain here in the valley.  We will do our very best to reschedule our athletic games for our student athletes.   Communication will be sent to you when rescheduled dates are confirmed.  Thank you for your understanding.

We have an earthquake and fire drill scheduled for this week on Thursday.  Our admin team will be going into every classroom to talk to our students about this scheduled drill to reduce any worry for our students.  We will also revisit how we should best respond to each type of drill, including lockdowns.  Our delivery in the classrooms will be student-centered.

Open House at the Fort is just around the corner!  Kindergarten will host their Open House on Tuesday, March 28th from 5:30-6:30pm in the Kindergarten classrooms, and Open House for grades 1 – 6 will be an outdoor event on Thursday, March 30th from 5:30-6:30pm.  The outdoor Open House will allow our families to visit and view multiple grade level displays.  Book Fair will be open in the library that evening from 5-6:30pm.  FWPA will have a food truck serving Boba drinks, smoothies, and Kettle Corn.  FWPA will also have a pre-sale for Carnival Wristbands that evening.  Looking forward to these two special evenings!

Lastly, after 24 years of service at Fort Washington Elementary School, Mrs. Cobb will be retiring.  It was an incredibly hard decision for Mrs. Cobb as Fort Washington is her family away from home.  She has given us so much of her time, and now, she will have more time for her family at home.  Anyone who has come across her desk will know how much her warmth and care will be missed.   Her last day with our Pates will be Friday, March 31st.  Once a Pate, always a Pate!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Hashimoto
