Principal's Message

Hello Pates,

Our sixth graders returned from their 3-day trip to Sierra Outdoor School with many stories to share about their experiences at camp.  They learned about trees and the great outdoors, survival skills, building a shelter, orient with a compass, dissected an owl pellet, climbed a rock wall, and hiking many trails while learning many science standards.   They even woke up to see a blanket of snow on their final morning in Sonora!  What a treat!  Thank you to our parent chaperones, 6th grade teachers, and Mr. Le Fore who helped make the trip special for our Pates.

Our FW orchestra and band will be performing their Winter Articulation Concert at Clovis West this year.  Orchestra will be performing this Tuesday, November 19th at 6:15pm for fifth grade and 7:15pm for sixth grade.  Band will be performing on Wednesday, November 20th, fifth grade at 6:15pm, and sixth grade will perform at 7:15pm.

It’s not too late!  There are a few more days to collect any donation of canned goods for the annual Clovis West Area Canned Food Drive.  All canned goods will be donated to the Poverello House.  Please join us in donating canned goods through November 20th.

Turkey trot, trot, trot…down the lot, lot, lot…Our 37th Annual Turkey Trot is this Friday, November 22nd!  Students in TK-grade 2 will run the Turkey Trot course that is within the school’s premise starting at 9:15am.  Students in grades 3 through 6 will run the Turkey Trot course that is slightly longer than a mile which starts at school, goes through the FW neighborhood, and will end back at school starting at 9:45am.  Looking forward to our annual FUN run at the Fort!

Another fun event coming to the Fort the first Friday in December is our annual FWPA Toys-for-Tots Movie Night!  Entrance to the movie night will be a donation of a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Toys-for-Tots.  Information and details will be shared with you soon!

As the Thanksgiving break draws nearer, may our Pates have a restful week off and reflect on the many things we are grateful for and give thanks to those who surround us with their love and support.  We are truly blessed to be surrounded by our incredible Fort Washington community.  Thank you for your care, partnership, and pouring into our students and school.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Hashimoto
