FW Second Grade Student Wins CUSD Rodeo Coloring Contest

In April, Fort Washington received a surprise visit from the Clovis Rodeo Association President, Ken Elliot, along with Clovis Unified Executive Board Member, Brian D. Heryford. They came to congratulate student Sunny C. on being named the second grade CUSD winner for the 2019 Clovis Rodeo Coloring Contest. They presented Sunny with four tickets to the Clovis Rodeo, a Clovis Rodeo hardback book that includes the history of the Clovis Rodeo, and a poster of the actual photo that is reflected in the picture Sunny colored for the contest. Sunny had no idea what a rodeo was until her teacher, Mrs. Puentes talked about it in class. Sunny is new to Fort Washington, recently moving to the Fresno/Clovis area from China. She has only seen a horse in books and on television. Now she will be able to see a real rodeo and a real horse. Her classmates and teacher are very excited that she will be able to experience something unique and special to Clovis.

Sunny and her coloring contest picture were recently featured in the CUSD Today April 2019 and the Clovis Round Up Rodeo Edition Insert.  Click below to view these articles:
